WHO AM I?

I’m part of the fellowship of the unashamed.
I have Holy Spirit power.
The die is cast.
I have stepped over the line.
The decision has been made.
I’m a disciple of His.

dare

I won’t look back, let up, slow down, back away or be still.
My past is redeemed, my present makes sense,
my future is secure.
I’m finished and done with law living, sight walking,
small planning, smooth knees,
colorless dreams, tamed visions, worldly walking,
cheap giving, and dwarfed goals.

I no longer need pre-eminence, prosperity,
position, promotions, plaudits, or popularity.
I don’t have to be right, first, tops, recognized,
praised, regarded, or rewarded.
I now live by faith, lean on His presence,
walk by patience, am uplifted in prayer
and labor in power.

My pace is set, my gait is fast, my goal is heaven,
my road is narrow, my way is rough,
my companions are few, my guide is reliable,
my mission is clear.
I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured,
lured away, turned back, deluded or delayed.

I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice,
hesitate in the presence of the adversary,
negotiate at the table of the enemy,
ponder at the pool of popularity,
or meaner in the maze of mediocrity.

I won’t give up, shut up or let up
until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up,
paid up, and preached up for the cause of Christ.
I am a disciple of Jesus.

I know I must go until He comes, give till I drop,
preach till all know and work till He stops me.
And when he comes for His own,
He will have no problem recognizing me.
My banner will be clear.

Footprints in the Sand

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed
he was walking along the beach with the LORD.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging
to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.

footsteps

He noticed that many times along the path of
his life there was only one set of footprints.

He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he
questioned the LORD about it:

“LORD, you said that once I decided to follow
you, you’d walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don’t understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me.”

The LORD replied:

“My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you.”

Great Moral Teacher, Demon from Hell, or Son of God?

“I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: “I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept His claim to be God.”  That is the one thing we must not say.  A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher.  He would either be a lunatic – on a level with the man who says he is a poached egg – or else he would be the Devil of Hell.  You must make your choice.  Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse.  You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God.  But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher.  He has not left that open to us.  He did not intend to.”    C.S. Lewis
