Divine Knowledge

God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods, he holds judgment:   Ps. 82:1

_____

For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. 2 Corinthians 10:4

The Bible speaks about another dimension. A spiritual one. One where God resides with other spirits. Within this dimension, God sits in the midst with other gods. His council.

Our forefathers believed in a spiritual dimension. One that impacts the physical world we live in. But today, like back then, people only accept what they can see and touch. They disregard any higher dimension with powers greater than what is known.

Jesus though believed in the supernatural. HE spoke highly of HIS heavenly Father. HE manifested through HIS good works the fruit of that relationship. HE was a super rabbi of his time. HE strongly taught and interpreted Scripture with authority. HE introduced HIS kingly role to the people. HIS government was not of this world. HIS divine knowledge and wisdom opened the eyes of the people.

There is more going on in this world than what the human eye sees. There are spiritual forces impacting everyday life. There are domains led by spiritual beings who seek to destroy God’s plan for humanity. There are powers at work behind the scene terrorizing people. Fear and hate are negative consequences of their efforts. Mental anxiety and worry are fruits of their deception. Yet Jesus foreknew their plans.

HE gave us the Sermon on the Mount to mentally prepare us for the enemy. HE introduced us to the Holy Spirit. HE equipped us with spiritual armor. HE incentivized us with the heavenly vision and purpose of life. HE comforted us with assurance HE is always with us. HE emphasized the importance of continual communications through prayer. The ability to ask, seek, and knock on HIS door with immediate access. HE has made himself, HIS Father, and Holy Spirit available at moment’s notice.

All this and more becomes ours as we open our eyes in belief. We pursue a relationship with HIM. We grow in HIS grace and knowledge. As we do, a whole new world opens up. The potential possibilities that lay before us become overwhelming with delight. We kneel in awesome amazement. Our world becomes more align with the Creator’s vision for humanity. The more we hang out with the Divine, the more we capture a way of life that is more abundant than everyday survival. As our desires align with the Triune God’s character, the more we experience life the way HE created life to be.

Yes, there is knowledge that God reveals to us that science and philosophy can’t quite capture. The knowledge of how to live life to the fullest. The way our Triune God created life to be.

What Does the Bible Reveal About Marriage?

Let marriage be held in honor among all…   Heb 13:4

Marriage is more than a human institution. The Bible indicates that marriage portrays God’s relationship with humanity. In marriage, we taste life as God intends life to be. Two people becoming one in purpose, mind, and soul.

The entire theme in the Bible portrays marriage as a God-ordained institution. In Genesis 2, God made woman as a partner for Adam. HIS instructions were that man leave his parents and cling to his wife and become one.

The Ten Commandments emphasize the importance of having a good relationship with others. For example, father and mother (5th) are to be honored for the sake of the family. One also needs to refrain from adultery(7th). And one ought not covet their neighbor’s spouse(10th).

The prophets often spoke about the marriage relationship between God and Israel. How God will divorce Israel for her unfaithfulness. Yet HE continues to restore the relationship every time it fractured.

Jesus spoke often of marriage. His parables included marriage scenarios. The apostle Paul wrote about marriage. He outlined practical advice in his letters to the Corinthians, Timothy, and Ephesians. He explained the challenges and the blessings of marriage living in the end times.

The apostle John highlighted marriage in the Book of Revelation. The resurrection is the marriage fulfillment between Jesus and HIS fiancé the Church.

From beginning to end, the value of marriage is emphasized throughout the Bible.

There is no problem with the marriage institution. The problem is with people who are broken. People who have seen marriage failures rather relationship bliss. People who are afraid to make a lifetime commitment with another. People who focus on the downside risk rather than the upside purpose.

Without God, marriage could easily become a boxing match between two strong-willed people. When one’s desires are not satisfied, one blames the other. When one’s life is falling apart, they blame the other rather than look inward.

Marriage is for the mature childlike believer who knows God is doing a work in them. They understand marriage is the safe harbor with a trusting mate. Someone who has made the same commitment to carry each other over the finish line. They know marriage is also the framework for God to complete HIS work in us. To chisel away the destructive attitudes and habits which enslave us to ourselves.

As we practice the Triune way, the new creation becomes real. As we mutually submit and encourage one another, marriage becomes heaven on earth. We begin to experience life the way God does. HIS love, joy, and peace become real within the bonds of marriage. Two people are becoming one patterned after their God. Like their elderly brother Jesus, they are learning the Way. The way God created life to be.

Your Personal Mission

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.   Ephesians 2:10

You were created with a purpose. The challenge for many of us believers is discovering that purpose. Most of us ask God and then still go and do our thing outside HIS will. So we ask HIM to bless our work because this is what we want. However, we keep tripping over our feet and then blame God for our incompetency.

Others ask God and then fumble their way trying different things. They never end up finding fulfillment in what they do.

Or we have a dream and passion for something, but become frustrated. We soon realize our abilities don’t carry us through the activities to live out our desire.

The purpose-driven life begins with Jesus. It is when one realizes they are being prepared for eternity to serve their King. Then their approach becomes more focused. They realize they are called to be part of an executive training program to serve in the Kingdom of God. Their life activities are to prepare them to lead and serve others. The only question then becomes how.

Each of us are uniquely wired with specific DNA. Approximately 50% of us are already condition to be a certain type of person. The basis of our personality and abilities are already programmed in us. But we have input into the remaining 50%. We get to choose how the remaining 50% is built upon the giftedness given to us by our Creator.

First, we need to gain valuable skills built upon our natural abilities. Then we need to seek how we can best support Jesus and serve others around us for HIS sake. When we do, we will find that sweet spot which becomes our mission.

In some cases, it will be obvious. But in most cases, it will be a search and discovery process. During this process, one learns to abide in Christ. One learns to trust HIS Spirit to lead and direct their steps to the outcome HE desires. This is how one’s faith grows.

In the process, one sharpens their skills. Then one become more proficient in their service for others. One’s platform grows. One’s relationship with their God becomes more real and attuned. One finds themselves in the service of their King.

In many cases, our service will be our vocation. Our mission will be to serve others in the career field one chooses. We will be introducing Jesus and HIS Kingdom to others. All this while providing a product or service that will benefit others. We will through HIS Spirit become a light for others to see the power and magnificence of HIS Way of life.

For others, our giftedness may be to raise a family. To invest our time and resources into the lives of others who will grow and make a contribution into society and HIS Kingdom. There is no one mission as long as Jesus is your partner. HE will direct you if you allow HIM too. In fact, you may have multiple missions. The common denominator is Jesus being the core of them all.

And yes, some will find it threatening. But your service will reward you both spiritually and financially. You will learn to walk with your King and serve HIS people while growing your faith in HIS Ways. In hindsight, you will find this was your personal mission through life.
