He Is The Teacher; We Are His Students

Have you ever stopped and taken a moment to marvel at God’s creation?  From its beauty, to its size; from its differences, to its interrelationship balance, everything is just right. It puts everything into perspective. What is man that thou are mindful of him? That is what the psalmist wrote and the writer of Hebrew’s repeated. Our Creator has put everything on this earth under our domain.

We were created after the image and likeness of God. The only difference is we are physical, limited by space, time, and thought. Mankind’s first parents, Adam and Eve, were given a lifestyle that people today can’t even fathom. However, when the moment of truth came, they blew it. When decision time came, they failed the test. They chose to follow a lie because it appealed more to them then what they already had. They wanted more and didn’t trust God to provide them with it. How many times have we failed the same test?

Disciple 101

A student is not greater than his teacher (Jn. 15:20). A student may become like his teacher, maybe even do greater works. But he will not be greater. A disciple of Jesus Christ wants to be like Him. He will never be greater than Jesus, but he will be like Him. A disciple of His not only talks the talk, but walks the walk. A disciple of His not only shows honor, respect, and concern to his Teacher, but also to his fellow students. We are all students of the same Teacher.

He has called us to become disciples. We only accepted the invitation. He is building His church. We are only the small stones. He determines where the pieces are laid. He is creating another masterpiece, a spiritual one, with one stone interfacing with another stone until the entire building is ready for a wedding feast. You and I are those stones. As disciples of His, we are his building stones. He is creating a masterpiece in us, through us, and many times instead of us. We have surrendered all. We make many mistakes. We pray, we cry out, we live by faith and not sight. We are His. We have been purchased with a price, His blood. We were kidnapped, held in ransom by the satanic world, but redeemed by Him. We are eternally indebted to Him. We love Him. We are loved by Him. We are His precious stones. We are His apprentices. We serve Him. We are full time students of His. All of life’s questions are answered in Him. Everything about life revolves around Him. I accepted the invitation to be His disciple. Have you?

OUR PRAYER:

PRAY 8

Our Awesome Dad, we thank you for the privilege of being a disciple of Jesus Christ. We only pray that we be properly taught, trained, and mentored into real discipleship. That we live this life with the energy and focus that will glorify you and your way of life.

Help us. Train us. Prepare us. Be merciful and patient with us. And let us not become lazy in serving you and our brothers/sisters in the Lord. Help us walk the walk as we talk the talk. Let this life exemplify you. When people point their fingers at us, let them all say that we are a people of the living God.

We are yours. Teach us. We are yours. Give us opportunities to serve you. We are yours. Let nothing come between us. We are yours. Grant us your success and victory at all times. We are yours. Bless us so we can bless others.

Thank you, Lord Jesus. Thank you, Holy Spirit. Thank you, Creator Dad. So be it

Dr. Mike
